How To Setup Bluetooth on Mac

Bluetooth can be difficult to get working sometimes. Usually this is due to the fact computers and smartphones use many different implementations of Bluetooth. However, with Macs this is generally not a problem. Note Bluetooth connections from iOS is not supported at the moment (due to limitations imposed by Apple).

Make sure Bluetooth is enabled in System Preferences. Open System Preferences and click "Bluetooth".

Make sure your computer is discoverable.

On your smartphone/device, scan for devices and pair with your Mac.

On your computer, click "Pair".

On your smartphone/device, click "Pair".

Now start the Unified Remote app and add your Bluetooth device as a server.
